Uncompressed 10 Bit QuickTime = no video stream

Has anyone else had problems with the Blackmagic Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 when recording "Uncompressed 10 Bit QuickTime" where Vegas doesn't recognize the video stream? I'm using Sony Vegas 10, and dropping the file in to a project results in only the audio streams being imported. I can't play it back using QuickTime either (it only plays the audio steam). I can play it in VLC Media Player, but the audio stream doesn't play in it. I have the latest software/drivers/firmware for everything. The footage plays back with both video and audio when I play it on the shuttle itself, so I know the streams are there.

Using the other codecs on the shuttle are fine. I need uncompressed though for some green screen work.

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.

Pretty sure you won't find this in Quicktime for Windows libs.
Only way is to use Final Cut afaik.

DNxHD from your Shuttle should work fine for chromakey and is cross-platform both ways.

Did you install the codec? For me these Hyperdeck 10 bit Quicktime videos work well in Vegas Pro after I installed the package "Desktop Video 9.6.6 for Windows" from Blackmagic.

Hi Marco - yes, that actually worked for me. I had contacted BMD and they replied via email which sent me to that page to dl the drivers. installed and viola - uncompressed works now!

From BMD:

"Sounds like the PC does not have access to the 10 bit codec and hence is not decoding it properly.

Go to the Support page, select Windows, then DeckLink and then DeckLink HD Extreme and download and install the Desktop Video driver and this should install the proper codecs on your computer to allow you to decode this uncompressed 10 bit video. "

Glad you found a solution.
I may download these and see if they work without a card -- encoding or decode only?

Inside Vegas the option is there to output Quicktime 7 using Blackmagic 10 Bit. I rendered a loop region and it looks like it rendered it just fine. Almost 600mbits/sec, a little over 10 sec of footage and it output an almost 1 gig file. Sounds mighty uncompressed to me!

I don't use Blackmagic hardware. The codec even works without a card.

Thanks, Marco.
I'll give it a try.
