"undo buffer" issue wiping out all my work...

i'm not sure how to explain this, but in short, i can't open up a recently saved vegas file in V12. didn't bother me the first time a few days ago. but now that it's happened three times today, i'm worried.

the only clue i have is the last wipe out warned, "undo buffer", "save your work under a new name"...

which didn't help anything.

i've even tried saving to different drives. same problem.

running win7, 64b, intel core 2 duo, 2.66ghz, 2.67ghz

should i reinstall? i don't know what to do.

thx in advance, friends

STOP!!

When I've had this happen I tracked down my folder that holds the REDO and UNDO and deleted its contents. BUT before I did that I did copy over the contents - just in case....

I've had various episodes love<>hate relationship with that UNDO<>REDO Buffer and have at times kept a Windows view on that Folder and watch the shenanigans that goes on when working away. Do the same, it's fascinating! - Well, yes I do get out now again, only when the Nurse allows me to (lol).

Grazie

Grazie, do you recall where this interesting folder can be found?

At this moment I'm having these undo buffer errors on a huge industrial project. Generally it will happen when I forget about the auto-ripple being on, and I try to undo a timeline shift. That will trigger the error message, but many time when I try to undo a minor edit, it won't undo anything - it sees nothing in history to undo.

I'm using Timeline Tools auto backup, so I always have a version to revert to, but I wasn't aware this could lead to a project being unopenable. I need to deal with this.
