Unhappy Customer

I ordered the downloadable version of the Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum Pro pack for $114, which came with some extras, like a .zip file over a gigabyte in size, vegasmoviestudio9-content.zip.

First off, I'm not happy you guys only allow 3 download attempts. Please don't tell me that I'm getting ROBBED. I have tried two times already to download this file, the first time who knows why it wouldn't download successfully. The second time, after nearly 24 hours of downloading, I woke up and my computer had restarted. Not sure if it downloaded successfully or not. Winzip opens up the file, and I can see what's in it, but winzip will not create the directories these files are supposed to go in.

There are no download/install instructions for this file. Why not? What are the step-by-step instructions for installing this file from the .zip level. I would call and talk to a technical support representative but you want me to pay for that too. Why would I want to pay Sony any more money when I'm already unsatisfied? I want to know first and foremost what Sony is going to do to make it right. If that .zip file is supposed to extract to a directory Sony has designated, without problems, then is that to say the file I've downloaded is damaged? And is that to suggest I got only 1 more download attempt left and I'm screwed out of my money if your file doesn't download correctly?

I just tried downloading cinescore, and that file did not download correctly either. I have no stated limits on trying to download that, but it just goes to show there's problems with downloading files from your site. I don't have these problems downloading from the other sites.

If this post is in the wrong section, please move it to the right section or refer me to the right person. If my questions can't get answered satisfactorily, I would like the phone number of a manager or supervisor, who I can talk to for free before I contact the better business bureau and also share my experiences on every multi-media forum I know of.

This is a peer forum.
Customer Service is available through the links at the top of the page.
The downloads work correctly, but if you are on a 56k modem, I doubt you will have much success because of the download size. I can assure you that you haven't been robbed, and that CS will get you what you paid for.

1) Know thousands of people have downloaded these files with success, so maybe you should be looking at problems on your end and not blame others?

2) If you are on a slow connection you should probably be ordering the hard copies. You never stated any of your system specs and stuff like that. Maybe if you were more specific folks could help.

3) If you are trying to use a wireless connection these files may be too big for your connection and your modem may not have a good enough connection to sustain the download. Try using a computer connected via a hard wire from your main modem to computer. Once I had this trouble myself with a flaky USB wireless modem. After trying a couple times unsuccessfully and then after nicely seeking advice from the folks here, I used a computer hardwired to the modem it worked great...of course I have DSL though. You? Since then I have upgraded my wireless modem (PCI card) and everything I have downloaded from here has been fine via wireless.

The download files are self-extracting .exe files. After you've downloaded, double-click on the file and it will open itself. There's no need for WinZip at all.
