Although I have version 7, I have not yet upgraded from version 6 because I am in the middle of a project. When I do upgrade, should I manually uninstall the older version first, or does the upgrade procedure automatically do this as an option. I do not want both versions on my machine.
If you're sure that you don't want both version installed at all, I would recommend uninstalling Vegas 6 first. Doing the uninstall of Vegas 6 after Vegas 7 has already been installed has been known to remove files that were added by Vegas 7. (Most of the programs' files are kept in that version's directory, but some audio plugins are stored in a common directory.)
Thanks Rob. I too was concerned about "yanking the rug out" from under the new install. I'm wonder if some of the users who have posted about "disappearing plugins" are experiencing the effects of this.
Will all the previous version Vegas projects import and work okay in version 7? This is the first time I will be upgrading this program. I currently have version 4. I want to be sure that my V4 files will work in V7.
