From the thread subject i thought i'd been transported into a world created by Terry Pratchett.

Think about the innocent children, there is still good in this world.
Please think twice before you Uninstall the Universe.

I deleted the actual OFX files but the folders for them still appear in plug in manager. Can't figure out where those are set.

Nothing in the registry I can find.

No need to destroy the universe, just wait for the big crunch.

Vegas sometimes does not keep their plug-in cache properly updated.

In the Vegas "AppData" folder you can delete these files.
plugin_mamager_cache.bin
svfx_plugin_cache.bin

Vegas will re-create these files the next time you start.

Thanks Norman! That's it. It's a clean machine now.

Add my thanks too Norman. I was wondering how I went about doing this and your solution was quick and painless :)

I bow to you as Destructor of the Universe...I also uninstalled Red Giant, but I still have the plugins listed in my plug in chooser and I get this annoying message: "Warning: A valid Universe membership was not found. Please check your membership status with Red Giant Link. I don't have an active membership or want one."(I downloaded the trial and it didn't work with MSPS 13--I uninstalled and thought I was out.)

I get this warning message every time I boot up, and it slows the system down.

I hate the Universe. I want it all gone.

Let's face it, our Planet is punching well above its weight.

"A valid Universe membership was not found."

Wow, talk about demeaning. I would have thought I was a member by just being here.

Also, I should point out that if I were judging the next Miss Universe I would pick the correct winner.

Succcess! Red Giant support replied (they we're totally on their game--and BTW, Quicklooks is a solid program with adjustable color grading presets...it just doesn't work with Movie Studio Platinum 13).

My mistake was uninstalling using Windows--if I had uninstalled with the Red Gian Link in my start menu, I could've avoided the pain.

I manually removed the files by going to file path: C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins\Red Giant. I simply deleted the folder and restarted.

The Universe is gone and I'm experiencing profound tranquility.
