Unknown Error 8004e002h after prepare

I am stumped. I have created a DVD with a menue. There is a play movie that points to a single avi file. then I added a scene selection button to add links to the chapters of that avi file. I then added a bonus area where I added new individual avi's for the different "bonus scenes" I have never made a DVD this complete. Anyway it takes about 4 hours to prepare and it does it. then when I go to burn it starts the burn and gives a "Unkown error 8004e002h" I click details and it says this:

'SFMMCX'-(17)
'atapi'-(1)
-'SONY DVD RW DRU-510A 1.0a'-(0)
Module mmc.cpp Line 861

Status: 00000000
Command:
Sense: 00 00 00
Info: 00 00 00 00

Does anyone know what this means or how to fix it?

mmc.cpp is probably a Microsoft multimedia controller c++ routine to comunicate with the sony; so it may be that there was a communication error or driver problem; otherwise, not a clue. Sounds like it failed in an I/O API to the burner. I don't know if this is in any way related, but looking at mmc.h in the windows sdk says
MMC_VERB_PROPERTIES= 0x8004
Were you past the prepare stage and in the write stage; if so it might be communication between DVD-A [an inconsistent tupple or the like?] and the Sony drive went amuck. However, since Sony supports both the drive and the software, you're lucky--can't be any finger pointing between vendors.

This drive definitely works with DVDA.

1) Make sure you have updated to DVDA 1.0c.

2) Uninstall all Veritas apps

3) After you have completed steps 1 & 2, try burning again.

I have the same Sony DVD burner I just experience the same error - only with preparing and burning a single AVI movie Clip.

However, I have burned fine with other prepared projects when starting with an mpeg. So the drive is being recognized and burns okay. The prepare seems to work fine on the AVI file as I am able to view the DVD project off the hard drive no problem. I have rendered to mpeg-2 in Vegas then prepared and burned in DVD Architect with no problem. I am now rendering the avi in vegas as an mpeg-2. Then I will prepare and burn in DVD-Architect and see if it works. Will post results as project progresses.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated - thanks in advance

Upgraded to DVD A 1.0c

Same message came up only this time with more information that the file was to large to burn to the dvd (Original Prepared file was 4.5g)
I optimized the bitrate down to 5 so the size was around 4.0g and prepared again. This time it burned with no problem.
