Unlocking Video Plug In Pack with Outlook XP

PAW wrote on 9/13/2002, 4:33 PM
Hello,

Anyone help, I have just purchased and downloaded the plug in pack.

I have received an email with the reg key attached but outlook XP/win XP will not allow me to open the attachment. I have hunted around the on-line help and it appears to say that it blocks all .reg files.

How do I unlock the plug in pack?

Regards, Paul

You don't need the reg file. You should have also received unlock codes that you can enter by going into vegas, putting a clip on the timeline, and applying one of the new effects or transitions. Look in the upper right of the settings screen for the effect, and you'll see an unlock button. Enter your info there.

You should also have received a plain text activation code in that eMail, something that looks like FJE82489GWJGFHJAEWEF238 (no, that's not a valid code!). You should be able to type that in when you first access any of the plugins while in Vegas.

Darn! You're right, it's not valid ;-)
I've yet to ever need the .reg file they send.

Someone has some IE/email filters set nice and strong. Understandably so.
I've been recieving a lot of email with no txt message........just an .exe attachment and maybe a jpg file........unknown sender. Yeah, let me just open those.....NOT!
Decided to pull the modem from the multimedia machine, and use the lesser machine for the "dangerous internet expeditions and email".

If all else fails Paul, just call customer support 2morrrow!

I must have lost the plot somewhere.

I have tried adding effects but I am not sure whre the apply bit should be used, I have the code on email.

I'm stuck, step by step waht am I missing?

Almost forgot it was Friday........no customer service 2morrow. I'm tired!

OK, Paul, let's see....I just happen to be doing the demo thang on the plugin pack myself.
Find your serial # from the purchase. It is in the text portion of the email sent to you, right?
OK, open VV and look down at the preview window. 3rd icon from the left is an icon for FX. Click this, and select one of the NEW fx (Film Grain....News Print..etc). You don't need any video on the timeline for this.
Once you've got this NEW fx plugin selected and clicked OK, you will be left with the VidOuputFX window. Do you see the word UNLOCK in the logo/plugin name bar?
Click that and click the "Enter Your Serial Number".

How's it going so far?
