Unmanaged Exception Error

Hey All,
I have been having a problem where I can not render any clip in vegas that was recorded with my desktop recording software, fraps. The rendering will stop randomly and I always get this error.

I have tried uninstalling fraps and vegas. I have tried installing different codecs and rolling back graphics drivers. I have uninstalled quicktime (which seems to be a common reason for this problem) quite a few other solutions and have yet to have any luck. I attempted using DXtory but the quality is not as clean as fraps without taking a huge dip on the recorded video frames. Fraps I am able to record at a solid 60 fps with no problems. Sadly this problem is not uncommon but everything I have tried does not want to work.

As a side note I did take all my fraps files and convert them to MP4s via handbrake but the quality took a hit unfortunately. I have dealt with it until now but my latest project became corrupt and all the clips I recorded and converted since the last handbrake update are unusable now so I basically have to start over. Because of that I'd rather just try and keep everything simple so I'm hoping to fix this fraps thing soon.

If anybody can shed some light on the subject I would be very appreciative :)

Best,

Fraps is a 32 bit codec, the last time I checked.

There are whole threads dedicated to using it with Vegas, on the Fraps Forums.

Hmmm I'll double check there

Just rendered a new clip and got a different error after I tried rendering it to a WMV instead of an MP4

One problem may be fixed only for another one to appear :(

I did a 18-minute project a couple of years ago using hundreds of Fraps clips with Vegas 9. It was certainly bogging down the timeline, and I was seeing occasional red frames.

I eventually started converting Fraps to Cineform using VirtualDub as part of my workflow. Life got much easier.

VirtualDub is free. I think the GoPro Cineform encoder/decoder is free now (I used NeoScene back then and still use it.)
