Hi there.I'm hoping some here can help me with this. I have used Video Factory 2 for some time. I loved the program. I recently got a new digital camera, a Casio ExilimEX - S500, and cannot open any of the video files from it in Video Factory or Movie Studio...the audio can be imported, but not the video. The format for the video files is: AVI (MPEG-4)

Is there any way that I can import these files?

TIA

-Jill

AVI is not supported by VMS. I bought WinAVI VideoConvertor ($30) and downloaded several codecs. (http://www.codecpack.info/allin1.php) and )Samsung video Codec 1.1) The Samsung Codec I had to go to the Samsung site and dig around for it but after installing these I could use WinAVI to convert it so VMS would recognize it. There are several settings in WinAVI (using different codecs) where you have to try each one to see which one works. This seems to have fixed the inability of VMS to recognize some of the formats. I was having the same problem of only being able to put the audio on the timeline but now it works.

Vegas Studio supports MANY types of AVI files, as long as it has the proper codecs available. The files from your camera can be used directly in Vegas Studio as long as you have an MPEG-4 codec installed.
