Update to Vegas 9.0c problem

when I try to update to 9.0c a warning appears: Requirements not met. Press ok to Exit install.

That refers to:
The following components are required by this software:
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable

I removed all of these files and reinstalled them from the microsoft website. The warning remains and I cannot updatewhen I try to update to 9.0c a warning appears: Requirements not met. Press ok to Exit install.

I reinstalled Vegas 9 from DVD,and did un update to 9.0b without problems.

Any Suggestions?

I had this when installing the trial. A restart of the PC did the trick, but not before attempting everything you did!

I'm having this same problem. I've tried all of the above, but still can't install 9.0c.
Did you ever find a solution?

The 9.0C download has those softwares in it and installs them prior to 9.0C. An install menu will pop up and after install they show up in the Control software group. This works in XP and Vista 64 bit. I would download 9.0C again and try it.

There were a few threads if you want to search or browse the forum postings. In a nutshell, there are 2 problems -- 1) Sony used Microsoft's Windows Installer ( the setup file expands to a .msi file), & 2) Whomever coded the install routine didn't screw up exactly, but they didn't go the extra mile following best practices either.

At any rate, a shortened version would go like this... Set-up expands in your temp folder into a set of cab files, & 3 setup files -- 1 each for Vegas9C, 2 each for the MS Visual C run-times. Those set-up files in turn expand into another Vegas 9C msi file & 2 run-time install files, only these files are stored somewhere else (I suspect the restricted C:\Config.msi folder). Now the problem (or at least 1 of them) with msi files is old installation data is stored, & the whole mess can get confused, in this case not finding/remembering where those last stage setup files are.

Not every user has problems -- it depends I think on what Windows Installer has stored from earlier software installations, & if those apps' setup files were screwed up too or not. You could try Microsoft's tool for deleting those older records -- msicuu2.exe, called appropriately enough: Windows Install Cleanup. Or you could try downloading & installing the 2 Microsoft run-time distribution files. And/or you can save the expanded contents of the Vegas 9C setup files from your temp folder, find those 3 setup files, & expand them out using Universal Extractor -> if/when setup can't find them point them at those 2 files, or just run them by themselves.

Strage that something this basic as istalling causes so much trouble?!

Installing 9.0c I got (for both 32 and 64 bit versions) the following error message:
"The installation wizard has ended prematurely!
Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, please run the installation again. Click exit button to exit the installation wizard."
The installations seems to work, anyhow. I got this same error message installing 9.0b and 9.0a versions (both 32 and 64 bit). Should I worry about this? Is there something that the installer did not finish? Anyone else that have had this? Taking in consideration your original complaint - it seems that there is really something wrong with the installer...
