Update vs install

After doing a moderate forum & FAQ search, I wonder does Sonic Foundry Recommend doing a uninstall of V3.0 before installing V4.0?? I will also be installing DVD Architect 1.o at the same time.

I read somewhere that they can co-exist fine, and I have VV3 LE and V4 on the same computer with no problems at all. The ONLY thing I noticed is that VV3 now has the AC-3 export option like V4 does. I did NOT buy Vegas+DVD, so I assume that V4 has the Ac-3 addon built in and you just need a serial # to use it. I even have a copy of Premiere 6 from work installed so I can work at home sometimes, but I'm ditching that POC probely today or tomorrow. :) I can't STAND that program!

Thanks. As you point out, VV4.0 would not update or replace VV3.0 but rather both programs would co-exist on the same hardrive. When using a Cassablanca NLE software, update is an option but does not give the same results as a complete install of a new version of the software. I look forward to becoming more proficient with Vegas and it's great features. 18 years editing and counting.
