I have a menu selection arrow (created in photoshop) for which I had to change the color. When I preview the project in DVDA, the arrow is still showing the old version. How do I "refresh" DVDA to preview correctly?
Read this thread and see if it is applicable to your situation.
If you edited the arrow within a theme directory, you have to be sure 1) you edit it within the right one -- and forgive me, my mind isn't working properly today, so I can't recall at the moment if it's "themes" or "_Themes", but I did specify in the aforementioned thread when my mind was working better ;) -- and 2) that DVDA actually notices the change. Otherwise, DVDA is going to overwrite any changes you made with the original theme.
Okay, well, is the original graphic (the one that DVDA insists on using for the arrow) a theme graphic or one of your own? If the latter, then my only guess at the moment is that you've got two copies of the graphic (one that you changed and one that you didn't), and you haven't pointed to the new one.
DVDA project (DAR) files do not contain <b<any graphics whatsoever -- they only contain pointers. The DAR file tells DVDA where your media, button images, frames, backgrounds, etc are all located. So, if you alter one of those items, but leave the reference in the DAR file the same, DVDA can't help but use the "new" item. I do it all the time -- I add a media or graphic to a DVDA project and then decide I want to change it slightly. I open my paint or video program and edit the item, and the moment I switch back to DVDA, the item has been "refreshed." No etra steps needed.
Select the button in question and then look in the Buton Properties section of the Properties window; what does it say for the Frame setting? Does it list the full path to the graphic you want to use?
I feel rediculous. The problem was with me.
The graphic had a color set applied to it which overlayed the graphic, forcing it to always be the color of the colorset.
I'll consider this my freebie beginners fopar. Thanks for your help.
