Upgrade?

I have VMS 4 and am considering upgrading. What are the chances of a newer version coming out soon. Lat time I upgraded - a new version came out a month later

Just a guess since no one besides the Sony Media Software group knows, but i would say a new version probably won't be out before fall.

If you do buy an upgrade and a new version comes out within 30 days SONY usually offers you a free upgrade to the new version. If your "a month later" was around 30 days or less, call customer service and ask them about a refund.

my upgrade arrived. Should I uninstall old version or install newer version over old one?

I have all my previous movie studios on my hard drive still.
Once you open an old project in the newest version it won't
open in the older, but other than that no conflict.
