Upgrade 16 --> 17

When I open Vegas Pro 16, a window pops up offering an upgrade to Vegas Pro 17 Edit. I don't recall that my Vegas Pro 16 had any additional nomenclature. It was just Vegas Pro 16. When I check online, I see that there are two levels of Pro 17 above Edit, and one subscription offering. My 16 version includes, for instance, stabilization. Pro Edit 17 does not.

I wonder why I am being auto-offered the Edit version coming from Pro 16 when that is, to my understanding, the top tier product. OTOH, I am not adverse to signing up for the subscription offering if it is truly the top product. The Suite (yet another step up) includes features that I will never use.

Can anyone tell me if the subscription product is Pro and not Pro Edit? How can I change the pop-up offering to take me to the subscription plan if I choose to go that route?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

17 has very good stabilization.

Here is the comparison of different versions:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-pro/product-comparison/#productMenu

In short:

Pro Edit -- editor

Pro -- Pro Edit + DVD architect (that you already might have) + some extras

Pro Suite -- Pro + more extras

365 -- Pro's Subscription + even more extras

If you only need editor and not interested in mentioned extras -- Pro Edit is absolutely fine.

After reviewing the product comparisons online, I decided to try the subscription offer. If I find it not to my liking, I will not review next year. Plus, it was offered at a substantial discount, well short of what Migix was asking for a Pro Edit upgrade. I still have and can use all my previous versions (most current are Pro 10 and Pro 16.

Thank you for the informative repy.

Happy editing.
