Use 5.0d. It has all of 5.0b AND the bug fixes/enhancements made since then.

As jetdv says, you'd be better off using the 5.0d patch.

But if you absolutely must have one of the earlier versions you can usually find them at the Sony Pictures Digital FTP site. The Vegas 5.0b patch is at ftp://download.sonypictures.com/old/vegas50b_bld160.exe

It's also a good idea to regularly burn your SONY software downloads to a CD for safe keeping. Every time i download a new version or update i'll burn a CD (actually these days a DVD) with all of the versions, the manuals, and extra files i've downloaded. I also include the emails with my serial numbers. This way i can always reinstall and reactivate without having to download anything again or trying to find or recover my serial numbers.

Blank discs are dirt cheap. Use them.

Thanks guys.....for all the help.

I took "jetdv" advice and just downloaded and install version 50d.

Cheinworks...you are 100% correct. Sometimes every now and then we forget the little things....sadly. Thanks for the advice...

Best Regards

DON'T USE 5d!!!! At least not if you work with interlaced video and care at all about changing size or aspect ratio. It has a pretty bad bug which resizes the interlace lines during resize or aspect ratio changes.

Thanks for the link. All old Sony software ,it turns out, is posted here:

Well I just installed 5b and can confirm that it does not have the interlace resizing issues that you have with 5d. In my opinion, anyone who is working with interlaced video should be using this revision.
