Upgrade path from MS3 to VMS4

If I purchase the $30 upgrade from Movie Studio 3.0 to Vegas Movie Studio 4.0:

- when installing VMS 4.0 does it require MS3.0 to be installed already, or can VMS 4.0 be installed completely from scratch? And, then you just enter a registration code?

I've come to dislike upgrades that require having the prior product installed or available for verifcation because then you always have to keep all the documentation or CDs for both programs just to have the later program work. If I'm no longer going to be using the older program, I'd just rather get rid of it. Can I do that with the MS3.0 to VMS 4.0 upgrade?

If not, this may encourage me to just wait for it to go on sale at my local retailer.

Thanks,
Jim.

The upgrade is a complete stand-alone package. The only thing that your previous MS 3 was required for was so that you could use the serial number to qualify for the discount on MS 4. You can keep MS 3 installed and use it beside MS 4 (though i don't know why you would), or you can uninstall it completely first if you wish. It doesn't matter.

So far I've had several errors from MS4 (all on exit) and there's the video paste bug, reported in a separate thread. Now it looks like .wmv may be a problem. I'm not deleting anything, yet.
