upgrade question

should I upgrade in the middle of my project???
it is 35 mins long and I used V MM 4.0
it is rendered and I am havin issues ( see below)
perhaps I should upgrade now ( I intended to anyway when this project was complete )
but wonder if I should do it now ???

see issue:
I rendered my project - but at the end - a window opened asked if I want to " finish" ( - the " send to dvd architect did not open - )
so I selected : "finish"
now I cant find the file to open in DVD architect
to burn the DVD -
I tried to re render - but it states the file name .MPG already exisit do I want to overwrite - which I dont want to do -
my question is - how can I open this file in architect if it was not sent there at the end
of the rendering process??

Just render to mpeg2 (mainconcept). Then run DVDA and import the mpeg2 file manually. Should work.

thanks Ivan -
when I try to rerender - it says the file .MPG exists
how do I convert / get this to format into MPG2??
I dont see an option
also - does re rendering not decrease the quality???

do you think because it is an older version it is a problem??
( even tho i have made several projects in the past)
many thanks!!

You should be able to import that already existing file in DVDA. Start DVDA, and then, from Windows Explorer, drag the file into the DVDA work area.
You see, mpg (2) is the basic format for DVDs.

oh dear - not working - could not drag to DVDA when open so tried to move file from my documents to DVDA - it moved but still does not show up in DVDA when I click on the files there

the project is a .MPG.sfl file -
( there are 2 of the same file name - one is the Vegas movie Studio
one - is a .vf file and the other is the mpg.sfl )
sorry to be a bother but i am desperate - have worked for WEEKS on this and need it in the next week
so thank you !!!!
( am also frustrated as Sony does have ANY support for this older version and I have to rely on good people like yourself in the forums to help)
