No.

The 4.0e "update" is the full monty. You need to download and install the whole thing.

I did it with 4.0a to 4.0c ( i skipped 4.0b) then to 4.0d.

Grazie

To the best of knowledge all the "E" version added was the Sony name.

After complaining of a problem I was having to tech support they suggested I try the update. I wrote back and told them I read it is only a re-brand and they replied with:

"Here is a list of what has changed in the update from 4.0d:

URL flip metadata commands are now supported when rendering to RealMedia 9.

A bug has been fixed that caused gain reduction when track envelopes are used and the pan mode was set to Constant Power.

A bug that prevented Vegas from closing some DV files has been fixed.

A bug has been fixed that could cause Vegas to crash when pressing the Down Arrow key when the Master bus fader has focus.

Although these fixes may not directly fix your problem it is best to start off with latest update when doing a reinstall just so you don't have other problems that have already been corrected...."

I dont mind upgradingt if it's really going to make a big improvement and they don't charge for it. I also have to consider the fact that I,m on a dial up connection - no reasonable hi-speed available. Thanks

Lynn, do you know anyone with a high speed connection? Maybe they could download it and burn it to a CD for you. I've done that for a few folks.. While they're at it, have them download the latest updates of each program; if you don't own a license you can at least try the program in demo mode.
