Uplift 608 to 708 close captions

For a long time vegas has claimed to uplift 608 captions to a 708 container. RFD tv would not accept the vegas version of 708 captions. Further research revealed that adobe premier reads the vegas 708 track as garbage. I am using a telestream program to convert the scc file from vegas to a mcc file and using adobe premier to encode. Anybody have a better solution. Is Magix going to address this issue. I think vegas has the best interface to creating closed captions if it just worked...

Is that your post in Creative Cow from last year about the same issue? JR would be the expert on captioning in Vegas.

yes...just wondering if I'm the only one that needs to deliver programs with 708 captions. If there is no interest in solving this problem maybe I need to look for a better long term solution..??

I am sure others do, but I imagine many people outsource it. You can still create your captions in Vegas, as you know and then use Premiere to encode. Not many other options other than Final Cut and then your outrageously expensive programs that will mux the CC into a video.
