would someone be willing to give me directions on how to upload video from an iPhone onto Vegas Pro?

The main thing is to get your iphone footage on to your PC rather than importing it directly into Vegas Pro. Once the media is transferred from your iphone to a specific folder (of your choosing) on your PC, you can use Vegas Pro's Explorer window to import that media on to Vegas Pro's timeline. That's the way I've always done it with importing media from my Android phone on to my computer.

Doing an internet search about how to transfer iphone media to a computer - which is readily available to all - resulted in this from Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/iphone/iphf2d851b9/15.0/ios/15.0

VEGAS Hub is one of the new feature that allow iOS & Android user to upload their videos and photos to cloud and sync it into VEGAS Pro software.

VEGAS Pro 19 - VEGAS Hub

VEGAS Pro 18 - New VEGAS Hub Feature

You can also connect your iPhone to your computer and manually copy & paste the media onto your computer and import em into VEGAS Pro.

Take note that VEGAS Pro doesnt read "MOV" container very well, so you might seeing green preview when you import clips with MOV container, especially iPhone clips.

Make sure to change your iPhone setting to use normal codec and not HEVC/H265 and Variable Bit Rate (For reducing file size to save up storage) so that the media from the iPhone can be edited easily.
