I'd use mov in that instance, but mov, 9 mins, 10 meg is gonna look like crap.
How about a DivX avi?

How do you render to DivX avi?
Spot|DSE wrote on 9/7/2004, 6:36 PM
you have to use the DivX codec. You'll need to find a site to download it.
That's really weird that the site you mention won't accept wmv. Never heard that one before. It's only the most popular codec/player format out there.

I emailed Earthlink and asked them how come I couldn't upload WMP files, I dind't get a straight answer. They said they didn't know when they were able to accept it.
Thanks Spot.

Earthlink DOES accept WMV files, my massage therapy client is on earthlink, and he's got streaming WMV, we create them.

Is it because I'm using the free space they give you?

A file should be a file. Used to be, you wouldn't be able to STREAM wmv or rm files unless the server supported streaming, but now they basically self-stream, which I believe is done by the player itself.

That's just weird...

They don't self stream, that's a part of the server package, and Windows servers have streaming servers built in as part of the package. QT and REAL require a HELIX server or other streaming server package that the ISP pays for.
It might be that Earthlink doesn't allow streaming on their free pages. I dunno...

Didn't realize that. Nice to know, but the important thing is not having to create wvx & ram files anymore is a GOOD thing... : )
