Urgent Crashing Problem regarding Certain Inputs

Hello -

I'm hoping I can get some guidance as to how to resolve my
current problem:

I've been using a Lexicon Core2 Studio Interface happily
and successfully with Sound Forge for the past few months -
so I decided purchasing Vegas as my multitrack software
would be a good move - please tell me I'm not wrong!

I know I've got everything routed correctly - (and used the
Vegas demo a while back so I'm familiar with it) if I try
to manipulate wav files in Vegas or record from any OTHER
input, everything is fine (playback, lots of tracks,
everything functioning smoothly). For some strange reason,
when I select any combination of inputs from the Lexicon
(stereo, left, or right / Inputs 1&2 or Inputs 3&4), one of
two things happens (but it always crashes in the exact same
manner):

1. When the take is finished (I can monitor levels, and the
waveforms draw as I record) and I'm asked to name the file,
once I do (or click Done), the take becomes blank (no
waveforms) and there is no sound. If I try to play it, I
won't hear anything - then when I press the "stop" button,
the software freezes and then crashes.

2. The naming dialog box closes, and when I click "Play" I
can hear the new track with the existing tracks. When I
click the "stop" button, the software freezes and then
crashes.

I've already lost a lot of takes and time with this, and
don't know what the problem is. Have you heard of this
happening before?

Your prompt reply would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank
you!!!!

I'm using the same set up and I am having no problems. Check if you
have the latest update from Lexicon (2.12) I had some problems with
the card before I got Vegas, usually using a demo version of Cubase.
I dumped it from my system and installed the core 2 upgrade and I am
having no problems. I've been using vegas for about a month now.
When you upgrade the core drivers, make sure you follow the
directions very carefully, there are some things you have to
uninstall by going into the directories. They give a very good set
of directions on their web site. Good luck.
