Try a DDU Uninstall of your GPU driver and reinstall the latest studio driver (assuming it's an NVIDIA GPU).

Hi Roger,

Thanks for your reply.

I've managed to get it to work by switching off Hardware Decoding and enabling Legacy GPU Rendering.

I will give the DDU a try if it happens again.

Hi All,

I tried the DDU but still no luck.

After rendering it seemed to work but the render was not complete. There were missing elements, e.g., subtitles in the project but they did not render. Really strange. Never seen something like this at all. Been using Vegas since version 9/10 onwards.

It's a large project with lots of different formats of video clips and subtitles.

Any help or pointers will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I wonder if the H drive item has any relevance to your problem?

indy-p wrote on 2/25/2024, 6:31 AM

Hi Eric,

The H drive is just a separate drive where I am storing the project file and media.

I've used this method for years using separate drives to avoid putting everything on the C drive. Because if your C drive fails you lose everything.

Indi

Unlikely I've long had .veg files and media files on a D drive as well as an E drive for other Vegas Pro purposes (e.g. temp files) without any apparent problem.

I have found a solution to this after watching this video:

Setting the 'Enable OpenCL/GL' setting to FALSE in Internal preferences.

This allows me even to have my hardware decoding on to use my graphics card.

Hope this helps someone.
