USB video capture from Canon HV20 on Vegas 7?

I'm trying to do a USB capture from my canon HV20. I'm using HD and running Vegas 7. Is USB capture supported? My Sony G1 laptop was advertised by dynamism.com as having an IEEE1394 port--and it doesn't. I discovered this on the road.

It would appear USB capture is not supported in Vegas 7. I couldn't find it in the help file, nor from a search on this forum using the term "usb capture". Can anyone help me on this?

Looks like you may need to pick up a 1394 card for your laptop to do the capture...

Don't think USB will work if your camera uses tape....

The HV20 can only capture stills through the USB port. You need firewire.

The only cams that use USB for video download are HDD cams... pretty much everything else these days is firewire.
