Use count shows 2 for a single clip?

I recently noticed that when I drop a clip into the timeline, the media pool use count detail shows 2 even though it has only been inserted once. The media is a DV clip. I can only assume the number two is due to there being an audio and video aspect to this clip. Is that correct?

This is a little confusing if you have some video clips where you just use the video and others where you just use the audio. There would be no way to differentiate with the current setting of the media bin info. If I am wrong, please help me out on this.

I would like to know before sending off a product suggestion to sony, and thus avoid the embarassment when the engineers laugh and say, stupid carson you just have to...
thanks,
Carson

Yes, Video and Audio are counted as 2. If you will delete the audio, and keep the video - the count will change to 1. The count is the number of events that uses the clip.

You can not tell if the clip is used in Video or Audio from the media bin info. You can right click and select time line events - which will select all the events that uses the clip.

Hope that helps
