use previous projects as media?

I am trying to make short videos segments of a long video I have and save them (this I have been able to do). I would like to then use these projects or files (small video snippets) on a new project but I can not add them using Project/Import Media and if I use the Project/Open it will only open one video at a time as a "project".

My question is what method do I use to save video clips in Vegas Platinum 10 (that I am making from a larger video) so that I can then use the clips as media in another project in Vegas Platinum 10.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you're working in standard definition video, your best option is to click Make Movie and then select the option to Save It To My Hard Drive.

On the next screen, set Format to Video for Windows (AVI) and set Template to NTSC-DV.

For hi-def video, set Format to Main Concept MPEG2 and set Template to HDV 1080 60i.

These formats should load perfectly into a new project set up for either DV or HDV!
