Using a Digital SLR for time lapse

One of the "many" reasons I've got my eye on a digital SLR is the benefit of creating your own stop motion and time lapse sequences.

My friend used an Olympus digital SLR a few years back in manual frame mode to get some of the time lapse footage I've used in my videos. He told me recently that the new movie The Corpse Bride was actually shot on digital SLR's. Very cool.

I was told long ago how Vegas can also import a sequence of frames right onto the Vegas timeline so that made me wonder....

Anyone else have any experience or examples of using a digital SLR as a time lapse and/or stop motion camera ?

Does the D70s have a frame interval function ? Be nice to put the camera on a tripod, set the shutter to fire automatically every *** seconds and just make sure no one walks off with the camera....

I got my eye on the Nikon D70s as I'm also a stills guy. Be nice to have a camera that will also aide my video work.

The Canon cams have the ability to do that via software like this

There's also the focus trap technique, I don't know if it works with the Nikon and Canons but with the Pentax I can setup the camera on a tripod, set the body to manual focus and block the shutter using the wired remote, whenever someone or something gets in focus a shot will be taken, pretty handy.
