I'm breaking my head around this with no success.
I hope salvation will come from someone in this group.... maybe someone has any idea how to solve this problem. 

for the life of me I can't figure out how to configure vegas(v14, v17) so that I can record automation such as track volume fader movements. when I have automation disabled on an individual track, I'm able to control the track's volume fader with the control surface(icon platform m - is configured as standard Mackie controller) but when I then enable the track to record automation, then the track volume fader no longer responds to the control surface's volume fader.
