Using Acid for Sound Effects

In the course of using Acid Pro 6 to compose some incidental music for a video, I came across an "instrument" included in the standard DLS Soft Synth called Sound effects.

Inside there are a huge range of sounds, including Breath Noise, Seashore, Rain, Thunder, Wind, running water, birds, dog, horses, telephones, creaking doors, helicopter, car engines, car stops, passes, crashes, siren, train, jetplane, applause, laughing, screaming, heartbeat, footsteps, gun shots, machine gun, laser gun & explosion.

The big advantage with using these in Acid as a midi instrument is that you can open your clip in the video preview and literally "paint in" the sound effects, and very easily vary the placement, pitch, velocity, duration and frequency of any sound.
