using busses on vegas 2.0

If I understand some previous posts regarding using busses on Vegas audio 2.0, there is no way to accomplish the following;

-have multiple tracks subgrouped into individual busses (guitars/vocals/percussion/effects/etc)

-have these multiple busses "assigned" to a final buss that can be used as a master fader.

If I am wrong, someone please offer me assistance...
Also, how do I designate pre or post on effects??

Thanks,

Vegas 3 has a master buss. Vegas 2 doesn't, which means multiple-buss projects clip because adding together multiple busses ofeten goes over 0DB.

it is sensible to put a mastering compressor / limiter at least on the master buss.

You can route any track to any buss you want. How you mix things is ultimately down to preference.

I tend to group things, I.E, send the double tracked guitars in a chorus to a single buss so I can EQ them at the same time - saves a lot of time.

Oh, BTW in Vegas 2, you often won't notice the clipping induced by the lack of master buss if you have a limiter on every buss.

I use Timeworks mastering compressor - it kicks ass.
