Using external MPEG2 Encoder(TMPEGENC) via frameserving possible?

Is there any way that I can frameserve from VF so that I can use an external MPEG2 encoder (TMPEGENC) to encode to MPEG2 without rendering to AVI first? If not, is there any API for VF that I can use to write some code to implement this functionality?

TMPEGENC is way better than the Ligos encoder and I already shelled out $80 for this program - I'm not going to spend another $100 to buy the Mainconcept encoder to find out that its crappy too. Any suggestions or direction? Thanks

Can't frameserve directly to TMPEG, sorry. You aren't editing at all, just encoding MPEG-2? What is the source material? Movie?

Yes I'm editing. VF is my primary capture/editing tool. My source material is primarily MiniDV. I would just like to have a simple way to use an external encoder (through frameserving or whatever) so that I don't have to render my edited footage to AVI (DV Codec) and then have to render again to MPEG2 with an external tool. Obviously having to use 2x the original footage's disk space is also a factor.
