probably the codec used to make the AVI convert.

It may be worth getting another converter - convert the AVI to MPEG - or some other format...then bring it in to VV.

I had a similiar issue with one clip I tried to bring in. It played fine in the media player - but just wouldn't open in VV until I reconverted it.

Hope that helps.

I am not sure if this will help you but there are 2 types of AVI files. Type I and II. I know that some apllications will open one and not the other. There is a freeware called GSPOT find it here: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/gspot.html that will tell you which type of AVI file you have. Check the two files, the one that opens and the one that doesn't in Vegas and see if they are different. Hope this helps.

I haven't had any trouble exporting uncompressed avi from Flash 5 and bringing it into Vegas 4. I haven't tried all the avi codec options Flash give you.

You can also try exporting your Flash movie as a png image sequence and then importing the images into Vegas.

Also, i imported the flash uncompressed movie inot windows movie maker (yikes!) and exported it as a wmv and it worked fine, but was waaaaaaaay too much work.

thanks everyone!
