Using graphics/objects to create buttons

In even the Trial version of Ulead's DVD Workshop I could make my own buttons using clipart that I turned into Gifs or Jpgs. If the video took place at the beach I could turn a beachball into a button--or anything I could imagine. Does DVDA2 allow this flexibility? Has anyone done this? I haven't seen it in the DVDA2 literature.

Hello,

I believe that in order to do this, you would need to have the ability to create invisible buttons to place on top of your graphic file. I don't think that DVDA 3 has this ability yet so I am pretty sure that DVDA 2 does not have it.

Okay....did some more testing and found that you can do this. Insert an empty button. Then go to "Media" and select "Button Only". Select "Thumbnail Properties" then "Thumbnail Media". You can insert your graphic file as your button there.

Search the help file for "custom." It's the second result.

Also see the DVDA New Features document for info on an even better option, custom menu highlighting. Among other things, it gives you better control over the shape of the highlight.
