using Indeo 5.1 Alpha

I use a great little 3d text program called Xara3D. The most recent release allows exporting to various avi codecs. The only one that allows an alpha channel is Indeo 5.1. However, upon importing this to the Vegas timeline, I cannot find the right combination (other than chromakeying) to drop the background out.

Has anyone used Indeo's alpha channel -- or is there another option to output alpha to avi? What settings should be applied in Vegas?

Traditionally, uncompressed .avi is what you want. But .swf I think has alpha also.

None of which seems to matter in Xara3D 6, as it doesn't seem to offer an option for transparent backgrounds.? What version are you using and how do you do it?

Version 6 does offer export to various registerd codecs. Indeo 5.1 does have an option for alpha channel. For whatever reason, the alpha channel doesn't come through.
