...using my dv camera as a pass-thru for capture.....problems...

ClipMan wrote on 3/5/2003, 6:00 PM
...OK, the VCR is connected to the camera thru s-video and audio jacks...no problemo...I can see and hear the vhs tape playing in the camera viewfinder...so I open Vegas capture and for a split second I can see the video in the capture window but then it stops...when I click "play" in Vegas, the dv camera stops....seems like the video on the camera and the video on screen are mutually exclusive....clicking "record" in Vegas does nothing....and while all this is going on, I'm clicking on various tabs in Vegas to hunt for capture settings and each time I click on a tab, the video starts to preview in the Vegas window for a nanosecond and then dies again....any idea what's up...? ....much obliged..

Hi Clipman,

Some cameras are not so handy with this... which cam are you using?

Hi CM,

You might try disabling DV device control in preferences.

If that doesn't work, there is a trick that might... but try that first.
