Using Neat Video Performance Tools Makes Saving Veg Impossible.

Grazie wrote on 2/11/2017, 3:08 PM

Anybody experienced this one?

Add NV 4.5 Plug.

Use the NV Performance Tools and accept the suggestions made. For me that's a combo of CPU and GPU - clever.

However, when I go to exit VP13 the Veg can no longer be saved nor the Veg file be opened. In fact it has disappeared from its Folder leaving only the BAK and TMP Veg available. Weird.

Could somebody test this for me?

TIA

Grazie

I just run a test as you describe above. VP13/14 both are fine here.

Grazie .. no problems here saving .. I'm using 4.5 with my GTX560ti .. preferences set to CPU - GPU like yours. Actually very pleased with the results on a night shot that had noticeable grain .. after 4.5 .. bye bye grain. Using 4.5 on VP13 and VP14.

Original shot After 4.5

xberk, thank you too.

Well, as you and Bruce are able to Save and Close without issue after using the Performance Tools, and both your Hardware and Drivers are as close to my setup as I can ever hope, I've got to be looking at some local issue with my System after updating my GPU Driver.

I'll keep you posted.

OK, I can Repro this error.

1/- If I open the VEG directly from where it resides in its Folder, I can then USE the NV Performance Tools including the Troubleshooting section, Save and Close without errors.

2/- If I open the VEG from my the POPUP Menu from my VP13 Toolbar Icon, USE NV the Performance Tools including the Troubleshooting section, I get errors AND afterwards I can no longer ACCESS through the POPUP Menu from my VP13 Toolbar Icon - it's gone AWOL. And yes, it HAS been removed from the Folder only leaving the BAK and TMP Veg versions remaining.

To recap, using NeatVideo Performance Tools:

  • A/- Open Veg From Folder, no Errors on closing Veg.
  • B/- Open Veg Via POPUP Menu from my VP13 Toolbar Icon, Errors on closing Veg.

Using a TEST.veg could somebody see if they can or can't repro this? Do make sure you use ALL the Performance tools including the Troubleshooting ones and the "Time" testing tool.

NB: All other Veg Projects opened via POPUP Menu from my VP13 Toolbar Icon work fine.

Thanks.

Nope, not that either.

I can Repro this Error either way I open the VEG.

4 days late, however . . . .

It turned out to be Anti-Malware s/w that had itself snuck-in under my RADAR. It had got to my Right Click on my File Drop-downs and found its way into taking control of the process of saving the NV file in VEG!

I deleted it!
