OK, Here's what happens when I followed your steps below:
1. I copy all the DVDA files from the Video folder DVDA creates and drop them into the red Video folder in Nero.
2. My DVD RW drive opens and closes a few times on it's own. Kinda like it has a mind of its own.
3. I get an error from Nero that says "Disk not present. Tray open"
4. I close the tray and it appears that Nero starts burning successfully. My DVD Burn light goes off and on between amber and green.
5. I suddenly get an error that says "Could not perform start of disc at once"
6. Then a new dialog box opens up that says "Burn process failed at 2X"
I've used different media and tried everything I've read in this forum, but I can't get Nero to work. I hope I didn't waste $100 for software that I can't use...........
Can anybody walk me through this just to make sure I'm not doing anything wrong. Thank you very much in advance.
Go to the Nero web site and check to make sure the DVD burner you have is on their list of supported burners. If it is, check to make sure that you have the latest version of Nero - if you don't, download the latest and install.
Also go to the manufacturer web site for your DVD burner and make sure you have the latest firmware for your burner (google can usually help in this search). If you don't have the latest firmware, upgrade the firmware.
Basically it's a question of burning the two folders (VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS) onto a disc - I haven't used Nero, but with a couple of burning programs I use, it's a question of selecting to burn a data disc then adding the folders.
Unstated here is that you have launched the Nero "Burning ROM" application.
Under the New DVD Compliation sidebar. Select DVD-Video. At this point I just except all the defaults presented and hit "New". The next screen presented has two panes, left and right. Drag the Video_TS and Audio_TS folders created by the DVD authoring application to the left pane. Select "Burn Compliation".
Here's the link to a very good animated tutorial on how to use Nero to burn files that have already been prepared. It is based on files prepared by a program other than DVDA, but you can follow the exact same steps and simply copy the VIDEO_TS files from the DVDA prepare.
