Using NewBlue titler pro 3.0 (newbie)

Juc1 wrote on 8/26/2014, 6:37 AM
Hi all,

Newbie question please...

NewBlue titler pro 3.0 standalone works ok for me but in my Sony Vegas Pro 13 I can only see NewBlue titler pro 2.0 = http://i.imgur.com/9QpCrVt.jpg

So how do I update my NewBlue titler pro in Sony Vegas?

Also I have saved a project in my NewBlue titler pro 3.0 standalone (effects on an eps file) so how do I import that into my Sony Vegas Pro project - what format etc?

Thank you...

If you have a saved project and want to open it in Titler Pro in Vegas, then

create a titler pro event
open titler pro
now open your saved project.
note that you will want to adjust the Vegas event length to that of the project you opened.

If you want to render a video from Titler Pro stand alone, then do that, and you can then open that video in Vegas as long as you have Quicktime installed. TP renders a Quicktime file with transparency intact (PNG file image sequence).

Juc1, that is Titler Pro 3. Select it and it will add a Titler Pro 3 event.

Thanks for replies...

@ NormanPCN - re these two methods is there any difference in the end result? For example is it better to avoid rendering as .mov ?

@ jetdv do you mean that even though http://i.imgur.com/9QpCrVt.jpg says New Titler Pro 2.0 it is actually New Titler Pro 3.0 ?

Thanks...

@Juc1

If you want to work in Vegas then just use TP3 in Vegas. No need to save/open projects and all that.

The only time I would render a MOV file is to give someone a title when they do not have TP3.

No it needs to say 3 not 2 when added to the Vegas timeline.

Yes, even though the generated media name says Titler Pro 2 it will be Titler Pro 3 if you have Titler Pro 3 installed. Once added to the timeline, you'll see the name says Titler Pro 3.

My generated media is listed as Titler Pro 3, but I uninstalled TP2 before installing TP3. Maybe in an upgrade operation the media generator still lists TP2.

If this is the case, and if it bothers you, then maybe deleting the plugin manager cache files in the AppData folder might clean that up and have it list TP3.

plugin_manager_cache.bin
svfx_plugin_cache.bin

in the folder
/users/"username"/AppData/Local/Sony/Vegas Pro/13.0/

Vegas will rebuild these the next time it starts.

As a quick test, I tried this. It does now read as "Titler Pro 3" on that screen.
