using presets for Event Pan/Crop and Track Motion

Hi, All.

I've been able to set up and use custom presets for Generated Media within a track, but for some reason, can't get one to stick for either Event Pan/Crop or Track Motion.

After adjusting the settings, I enter a name for the preset, save it, and save the project. The preset name, with its settings, gets saved, but when I click on anything else in the project and go back, the listed preset has reverted to ‘Untitled’.

Many attempts--even after rebooting the system following changes--each bring about the same results.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might be omitting or doing wrong? I’ve spent hours searching for tutorials, and haven’t found anything that addresses this.

What I've got is picture-in-picture setup--two video tracks, along with a set of two text overlays (one having a solid background). I'd like to use the same settings for many videos, without having to recreate them for each new one.

Saving this as a separate project for reuse doesn't work; when I delete the two video tracks to replace them with the new ones, I lose those settings.

Is there some way to create a template that would work for this, while allowing for presets that can be updated universally for each track in my projects?

Being a noob (albeit one who's spent about 20-odd hours reading and watching tutorials, and another several days getting used to the program) I'd be grateful for any direction on this.

If you click on the dropdown arrow, is your preset listed? It doesn't save as the default, it just saves as another preset.

Thanks for this, Dave. (Wow, do I wish the forum had a notification feature--sorry for not getting back until now.)

My custom presets are all listed in the dropdown for Track Motion and Event Pan/Crop. When I refresh, the characteristics have been applied but the name of the preset is still listed as (Untitled).

In short, the process is working, but it would be helpful if the applied preset is shown as being active. I suppose it's just a glitch with Vegas.
