Using proxies with Storyboards

Vegas pro 20. I tried out Storyboards for the first time this morning. Previously I've always kept two projects open to compile an edit - one project with labelled clips and the other to assemble the edit. Works OK to copy and paste from one to the other, but it's a bit clunky. Storboards looks great for creating bins of subclips with useful names, BUT it doesn't work with proxies. The storyboard previews don't use proxies, and as soon as I create a subclip, the timeline also stops using the proxy. I'm shooting 10 bit 60fps so proxies are essential for previews. Am I missing anything to get round this? I can't see anything in a previous forum post, so it might just be that I can only use Storyboards for 24fps clips that play fine without a proxy. Two steps forward...

Are you sure the preview resolution is set to draft or preview, not good or best? That's the only way proxies work.
