Using Pyromania Pro clips in Vegas

I have the Pyromania Pro CDs of fire, explosions, etc. Each has an image sequence of the main files and an image sequence of matte files. However, I can't figure how to composite an explosion over an existing video clip. I load the matte sequnce on one track, the main image sequence on another track and the video clip on a third track. I've played with different composite modes but just can't figure it out. I have no problem compositing Digital Juice stuff. Would the matte or main image be on the first/top track? What would I set the composite mode to for the tracks and the image sequence properties? I'm obviously overlooking something stupid.

Try this:

Track 1 Mask sequence and change the track compositing to "Mask"
Track 2 image sequence and make it a child of track 1
Track 3 The background video

I did exactly how you said and I still can't get rid of the black background of the explosion.

Add a Mask Generator effect to the mask sequence. That should take care of the black.
