@GeneralX, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Much of that Command marker functionality is very likely obsolete now. I'm checking into it, but if I remember correctly, the URL command required you to render to a WMV file and then playback had to be in the old Windows Media Player.

This is something that's potentially slipped through the cracks over the years as Windows Media Player was replaced and WMV never really caught on. We'll have to investigate, but my guess is that we will have to remove that command marker type and some of the others that relied on that old technology.

I'm sorry we didn't notice this sooner. The short answer is, unless someone out there knows more than I do (entirely probable!) you will not be able to use that function.

Hi Gary, thank you for your answer. I tried many ways to render and the format Window Media Video V11 is a WMV file...

In the actual version of the Media player, in the options menu/security tab: you can activate it to read scripts... so the command marker might still be working. I have briefly tried but it didn't work. Can you guys check it out?

I have huge Vegas production with interactive video marketing to do. So, I have been looking into different options to integrate the pieces of information in the production process and how the users will access it... I see many ways to do it. But, I have not tried all of the solutions so far. I am the type of guy who will try all of the options before choosing one. I have specific needs for this concept. That is why I am very interested to see what I can do first within Vegas.

I am open to any pieces of information that will put some more light on what I am looking for.

Thank you

Hi Gary, I did some tests and the command URL is working when rendering in the Windows Media Audio V11 format. But not in the Windows Media Video V11 format.

Note that I played the file in the latest version of Windows Media Player

If you have any information or advice about interactive video production, I'll be your best friend forever, loll

thank you

Thanks for the update. We'll take a look to see if we can figure out what's going on. Honestly, I'm willing to bet it's 15 years plus since anyone's looked at that code. Sounds like something changed or got broken along the way for WMV files.
