Using the Vegas Titler

Well I've given up on the two plugin titler programs for Vegas and so I've been trying to see what I can do with the built-in Vegas titler. It's not so much that it's limited as it is that it's very 2D and doing simple things is kind of akward. Anyway, I can do a simple lower third with a simple banner background and a bit of motion pretty quickly now and it's not as bad as I thought. Pretty versatile in a 2D sort of way. For 3D, I'll keep using Bluff Titler for now.

You can't individualized 3d with it (move each letter independently), but Vegas treats text like just a video clip so all transition, fx and 3d track moves also work on text. You can easily composite with it.

I've wondered this for a while now, but what are the legacy text clips for? I find them more akward to work with than the sony ones. Anyone use them?
