I remember a few months ago there was a post about using Vegas as a live event software....
There was another suggestion that is professional video software....
I have searched the post index for hours and can not find this post... does anyone remember what the name of that software was???
I am considering using Vegas to run audiovisual presentation at a scripted awards show....

Cheers,
Gary

Well, there's this post i made a month ago about using Vegas for playing back music during a live dramatic performance:

but that was audio only. I'm not sure if it's quite up to the task of handling video on the fly. I certianly wouldn't trust it on my 866MHz P3. It might be usable on a 2GHz+ machine though.

I have AMD system 2400xp.. with 1024 MHZ RAM.. I wouldnt trust playback with it.. It often lags choppily when previewing outside of draft or preview in full screen mode.. Hopefully this new 64 bit chip and Vegas PRO or 5.0 will accomodate this possible use..

Yes, I think I will use tape playback for video portions of the event, and Vegas to run slides only using markers.
[2.8 Ghz P4 / 1GB RAM]

I was refering to a post that linked to a broadcasting application used by professional sports, etc. Full A/V performance.
I love Vegas and feel comfortable enough in the interface that I can run this slide presentation with it no problem. Firewire out thru DV [tape overrides for video playback] and back to Vegas for the slides....

Thanks

Perhaps the software you're looking for is NewTek's Video Toaster.
