Using Vegas for Infomercial Production: tips?

Hi - I'm in the process of creating an online ad agency (psst -- videographers wanted!), and Before I do all the NLE work in Vegas, wanted to get your folks thoughts...

Here's the first of 11 clips:

Now I'm going to use Vegas to render out 11 clips that'll be played together.

I wanted to ask your folks' advice re what kind of shots to use? And any ideas on creatives, eg sliding PIP montages, titling and the rest?

And for the 11 shots that will be added to this, should I do say half of them tight, half medium, and alternate them for variety?

Appreciate any tips... this is the lead-in video infomercial for the agency, so I'm trying to get it done right...

Vegas makes it easy... I'm just not a skilled video editor (yet!)...

I would suggest using tight shots as there is a lot of real estate on a monitor and it would be very easy for the viewer to lose focus on your subject. I would only zoom out your shots when it is absolutely necessary that the viewer see the entire picture otherwise you give the viewer a chance to focus on something other than the subject or product you are trying to hawk.

I havent had the time to view your clips but will do so later tonight and give more advice if I have any.

First, nice idea.

Not skilled... right. I've seen some nice pieces attached to your name--not movies or artsy like GMElliot and Stonefield, or high-end commercials like Vic Milt, but good sellable content.

The link below includes a specific script format that I've used while working with agencies for infomercials (and most persuasive pieces):

This might help as a template while deciding how to sell your services.

Hey, thanks very much, appreciate the script link.. always helpful to have solid resources out there for ideas.... I'll check it out...

fwiw, I think that 'infomercials on the internet' are the next big thing, so I'm getting my hat in the ring early for this business segment..

Ken - Go for it, "fwiw, I think that 'infomercials on the internet' are the next big thing, so I'm getting my hat in the ring early for this business segment.. " . .. er .. . seems like you have started already - yeah?

Best regards,
