Using VideoFactory filters in Vegas: The real story

Some of you have been using a few of the VideoFactory 2 filters in Vegas. Installing the VF2 demo was something I recommended a couple of months ago so you could get an idea of a few of the many new features that will show up in Vegas 3.

However, because of the multiple versions of each app that have been released since I posted that message, you may have also seen a few of the VF2 plug-ins disappear from Vegas (a plug-in versioning issue to be specific). There's not much we can do about that at this time- these were essentially demo filters in Vegas anyway (they NEVER shipped with Vegas). So, sorry for the inconvenience, all those VF2 filters and many more will ship with Vegas 3.

You will still get some new filters by installing the VF2 demo, and you'll also get the 2.5 Capture tool, which does DV scene detection, so its probably still worth it to install the demo even if all the VF2 filters don't show up in Vegas.

I may speak for a lot of us or I may only speak for myself, but it's not that I think I'm entiltled to these plugins because I use Vegas Video. I just wanted to see what they do, as I'm sure most of us do. It seems that I have every VF2 demo plugin (and I'm thankful to have new tools to work with) except film fx, and I'm just curious to see what my projects would look like as "film" rather than video.

It's an "old film" type effect. Scratches, hair, jitter,BW, ect.

Yeah, I tried everything and haven't had film effects show up in VV2h. I will wait patiently for VV3. So hurry it up guys!
