You can't import GH2 raw files directly.

Despite what Sony has stated in their announcements and even promoted in technical newsletters - my experience is that it does not work. Since I work with high-end Canon, I recently took up this discussion with them.

They directed me to the process which is get the. raw driver installed on the Windows OS so that other applications can use it to pull a file open. That does work, but as CANON told me, you may not like how the opening app handles the file. I found weird colorspace anomalies and many other issues. NOT PRACTICAL.

So I shoot Canon raw, use their utilities to convert to high-end tiff or .jpg and all import really well to any app on the Windows OS.

Start on page 41 of the Vegas Pro 11 manual.

The free Picasa will convert RW2 to jpeg. I use Lightroom 4, which is fantastic software, but costs $$.

Can't help with CR2, but I'd be surprised if either Picasa or Lightroom doesn't support this format as well.
