V14 Trial version wants to update my V13 - solved

Mindmatter wrote on 6/4/2017, 9:10 AM

Hi all,

when trying to install the V14 truial version, I'm being asked if I want to update my older V13 that's been detected. Well I sure don't, I want a separate install. When I click no the installation aborts alltogether. Is there a way aroud this?

Thanks!

Save a Windows system image and run the trial knowing that if you decide Vegas Pro 14 doesn't work for you, you can restore the system back to the original state. This should be the "standard procedure" for all software trials.

Thanks john, but I usually could install trial versions alongside older versions without any problem. Why does V14 want to do that? Does the full version also overwrite the pld v13??

When I ran the Vegas 14 trial, I was able to maintain the Vegas 13-453 installation in tact. There have many builds since then and I do have a "gold" system image that I restored when I finished the trial.

Thanks John, I just decided to upgrade. I could actually do a separate install. Curious now as to what my experience with V14 will be. Kinda startled about the black buttons tho - I guess it's been discussed already...I'll look for some info about changing them back to color.

Mindmatter , would you please check if Vegas-14 had banned the AC3-Pro codec within your Vegas-13, or is it still available there?

Thank you!

Jam_one,

it's still there.
