V14 - Without internet access?

Former user wrote on 9/22/2016, 2:44 AM

I would like to buy the new Vegas Pro 14, but I have to ask a very important question. The PC I use for editing doesn't have access to the internet. When I tried Sony V13 (trial), there was a possibility (as far as I remember) to use a different PC (with internet access), sent a code and get an email with a key. That way I was able to try the software without internet.

Is this still possible with V14? I have to know, before the purchase.

Thank you in advance.

That's a very good question that I doubt you'll get an answer to in the forum any time soon. Submit a support request at https://support2.magix.com/customer/en/vegas/form and please let us know here if you get a solution.

Thank you for the answer. I followed your advise. I will let everyone know if it's possible, as soon as I get an answer.

You'll need internet access when starting the first time for the activation.

OK, V13 needed internet access too, but there was an option to create a small html file and transfer it to another PC with internet. You could send the code over the second PC and receive an email (with the key).
It would be very disappointing if there is no such possibility anymore.

I would like to ask one more question. Is it possible to download V14 on a PC (with fast internet) and transfer the (whole) "setup.exe" (on a USB stick) to another machine at least? Or do I have to download it (after the purchase) on the PC, where it gets installed?

Thanks.

If your setup.exe is something like the small 4.1MB trial_vegaspro14.exe found at http://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-pro/ then it's going to want to go online to find the full installer. If you raise a support ticket at the link I posted previously, perhaps they can provide a link to a full installer. But according to m2016 you'll still need internet access to get it activated, which is a shame as pro editing machines don't always have internet access. Maybe you can tether to a mobile phone's internet access or something, just to get it activated.

Thank you Nick. I opened the other thread at the same time as you wrote the answer. I will ask Magix, should I purchase V14 (I'm still not sure). Maybe I should try if the other method (provided by "Dr Zen") works with the trial version.
