V15 - Very slow timeline preview with GoPro footage

GJeffrey wrote on 8/29/2017, 6:16 PM

V15 gives me a very slow timeline preview with GoPro footage compare to V14.

I've been trying with 2704x1520-30p & 1920x1080-30p&60p. It tops up at 10/12fps @ best full instead of real time with V14.

My GPU being too old (GTX570) it's turned off. It doesn't improve anything when it's on anyway.

The files are read by the new so4coumpound.dll . If I switch back to the original dll (cf. Nick's post), real time preview again.

Anybody else with the same issue?

Same for me. Changing to older vegas 14 dll solved problem.

Thank you Kinvermark for your feedback. Great to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue.

Magix team, it would be great if you can optimize this new dll quickly. Workaround by digging in internal preferences is not user friendly.

That would also be great to list down the known issues for each release and their workaround if any . I guess that some bugs, issues reported on this forum have been found before the release but haven't been corrected due to marketing pressure.

That would save time and many complains.

Me too. Actually all my UHD/4k AVC footage from GoPro Hero 5 Black, Panasonic GH4, and DJI OSMO. The so4 workaround is here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/new-avc-issues-in-vp15-try-disabling-so4compoundplug-dll--108345/

By the way, the slow playback in v15 is particularly true of 3840x2160-60p footage from the Yi 4K+ camera. I'll try disabling the so4compoundplug.dll
